It is the most intricate issue of the current time in India. What should be the exact age of kids at the time of nursery admissions? Lot of different perspectives and ideas are there, but in my opinion, the ideal age for kindergarten should be 5-6 years. I think we first let them enjoy their childhood, let them develop in all directions. Give them some more years or going play group is sufficient. But the opinions vary here, and everyone has her view on this matter. Some parents don’t want to send them at an early age, but they have no choice. These days mostly schools are taking 3+ kids for nursery and 4+ kids for KG. There are also some schools that prefer to take 4+ kids for nursery or they start from KG classes.
The education system is growing
more complicated as they don’t focus on the abilities of child and parents.
Strict criteria and some guidelines
are put, and that’s all. The most painful thing is the distances between
schools and homes, how our little buds can resist this dirty pollution of the
traffic jams and all, in this way they will wither before time. The diseases,
infections and viruses, are growing at a high rate, like quantity of schools in
Indian cities. But no one is concerned about next nation holders, our coming
generation. Under the pressure, of curriculum and parents expectations what
they will contribute to their next generations.
A lot of schools also a big
problem and all have their own rules and points. Schools with lower cost have
not so good infrastructure, facilities, parent-teacher interaction etc while
schools providing AC facilities and newly built infrastructure cost very high.
And often these schools are too far from the residence, or it can be said that
some localities have not sufficient schools
according to the population which can provide the all the needs of a
prestigious school.
As a Delhi resident, we also face these admission hurdles. I think if the government is making rules and
guidelines for nursery and KG admission,
then they should also focus on the schools availabilities, amenities, strength
and fee cost. There are two types of schools in metros. The accessible schools
are too costly, and affordable schools are inaccessible. Now nursery admissions have become more
difficult than engineering and medical. Parents are confused, tensed and
clueless. I met many people who preferred to shift in small cities because of
their kid’s admission. As a mother of a 4+ baby, I am also clueless, what
should I do. High qualification and strong professional background, nothing is
working here. With a heavy heart, I can see the problems of other parents who
are struggling for many years and now forced to get their kids admitted in low
quality schools.
Here, is a list of schools which
I made for my kid, I am putting it here. It might be useful for all of you
guys. So, all the best, and get ready to jump into this battle.
