Awareness and Ribbons' Concept

While writing an article related to the pink ribbon, a question arose in my mind. What is the link between ribbons and awareness? These days many ribbons are recognized to us in daily life. So i thought to jot down some points on it.

I think, it's a beautiful way of reminding things which are important to keep in minds. Generally these ribbons are linked to the different diseases like cancers and often these ribbons have been a symbol of many movements.

First of all we shall talk about Cancer Ribbons.

Pink: Pink ribbon is dedicated to the breast cancer awareness, showing a delicacy to feminism.

White: Linked to many health problems and specifically used for the awareness of bone cancers.

Gray: Stands for Brain cancer.

Blue: Symbol for colon and prostate cancer, while navy blue is linked to human trafficking and slavery.

Red: Red ribbon is the most popular ribbon these days, after all linked to the awareness program of current most dangerous ailment AIDS and HIV.

Yellow: Despite of being a symbol of endometriosis disease awareness, this one has a unique history. It's been a symbol of deployed Troops, linked to the suicide prevention and awareness.

Jade: Alertness for cancers of liver and hepatitis B.

Gold: Cancer in children and leukemia.

Grey: Diabetes and Asthma.

There are some other multicolored Ribbons too, which are not explained here. This is an extremely interesting concept of grasping things, and to jog your memory.
